A senior government executive for more than 17 years, Dr. Susan Zevin has unique experience and capabilities covering the complex world of science and technology, from problem definition and planning, to implementation and 24/7 operations, to public policy.

Of particular relevance to client needs is Dr. Zevin’s experience as Deputy Director and Acting Director, Information Technology Laboratory, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Her four years leading NIST's Information Technology Laboratory (ITL) provide a foundation of knowledge about state-of-the-art technologies, their testing and evaluation, and the use of technical standards to promote integration in a wide range of applications.

Her technology portfolio included:

  • Unique, leading-edge computing and communications.
  • Technology guidelines and certification programs for the Help America Vote Act.
  • Standards, tests and evaluations of competing leading edge biometric technologies.

At the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Dr. Zevin introduced extensive advanced technology systems, facilities, personnel and training programs, and provided operational oversight for regional and national 24/7 storm warning service delivery. She also oversaw NOAA's world-class national data centers, and introduced innovative approaches to the use of climate data for financial risk decision-making.

Dr. Zevin is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Tel Aviv and the University of Arizona. Active in the Anne Arundel Technology Council, Dr. Zevin is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP); and a Fellow of the American Meteorological Society. With a love of outdoor activities, Dr. Zevin is an avid runner, birder, kayaker, and endurance athlete, having completed more than 26 marathons, ultra-marathons and triathlons.
